| "Because Mousers were considered extinct," Heaven said as she leaned against the wall underneath a huge picture of Bowser. "According to the records kept by the King and our Koopa patrols, there hadn't been a Mouser in our land for over twenty years. This was all before my time as Queen here, you must understand this.."
Taking a deep breath, she trailed a finger along the stone wall she was resting against. "The last one known to exist disappeared into a mysterious dimension called Subcon. The rumors about a machine that turns creatures into Koopas, I can assure you is no rumor.. I am a product of that machine." | |

| Looking around the enormous lobby once again, Crystal's body began to shiver as tears ran down her yellow cheeks as she could still hear the sound of screaming koopa captives getting louder and louder. "Come on, Chugami," she said shakily, in a tone just above a whisper. "Hurry up and let's get out of this awful place.." | |

| Satisfied that his revelatiions were now out and the wand was safely with Heaven, Clive walked out of the throne-room and walked away to his room. He needed time alone to think so he reached his room and locked the door behind him. He filled himself a glass of water then sat down on his bed deep in thought. | |

| "Mousers... extinct...?" Chugami pondered, sadly oblivious to Crystal's plight in his curiosity. "Hmm, I admit, I've never seen a full Mouser myself. Though Lil' Mousers are somewhat different, I would think... I mean, I haven't directly interacted with one of my own in awhile, but I'm sure I've seen at least a few in the background...
Either way, it's very interesting to hear that such a machine exists! I suppose the rumors about the Empire being assisted by dragons are also true as well? Paradise for storytellers indeed, I barely know where to start! I wonder how much Crystal knows about-?"
That's when he remembered something. "Crystal, right! I promised to read her a story earlier when Clive caught my attention. My apologies for cutting this short, Your Grace, but I best go and catch up to her. I do hope we see each other again." He tipped his hat. "With your leave."
With that, he scurried out of the throne room. A moment later, he came back in, put his pot back on, and left again.
"Crystal!" he called out, heading down the larger corridor towards the door he figured where Heaven had came from when they first saw her. He emerged in what he recognized as the castle's main lobby. "Crys-!" he started to call out as he looked around, only to stop halfway upon seeing her. "Ah, there you are," he said as he moved closer.
...Was she... crying...? Why would...?
His nose twitched. | |

| Crystal looked up at Chugami, wiping tears away. "I-I'm sorry," she said shakily. "This castle and I have bad connections, it's a long story." Getting up onto her feet, she slowly walked back down the stairs and stood next to him. "I'd tell you more but I don't feel comfortable talking about it here, it is fairly desolate outside in the valley.. possibly we could find a spot and talk about it out there?" | |

| Now this really interested Chugami. She had bad relationships with the castle? And not with the crown or anybody in it, since she was just fine talking to the queen; it was with the castle itself. It seemed she was willing to share, and he was willing to let her pick the venue.
"Of course," he answered, offering his hand. "Shall I escort you again?" | |

| "You'd be surprised how much of a factor dragons have played in this world," she said to Chugami. "Dinosaur Land would have been very much different without them."
Seeing that Chugami had to scurry off, she waved him off. "Take care, we'll come across each other again I assure you of this." Walking over to the throne, she picked up the wand. Exiting the throne room, she quickly made her way down to Kamek's workshop located towards the roof hatch of the castle. | |

| After a long think, Clive walked back out his room and headed down the halls of the castle. He was just wanting to get back to work and proceeded to walk further down the halls looking for something to do. | |

| Kamek was just coming down from the roof and down the hallway when he bumped into Clive. Tipping his blue hat towards him, he continued to walk down the hallway until he entered a doorway on his right which led to his workshop. | |

| "As you wish, mi'lady," Chugami politely replied, tipping his hat with his other hand. He led Crystal out through the front door, making sure to close it behind him. He couldn't quite remember the bar's closing time, but it seemed fairly late and given how she was, he figured the bar that shared a wall with the castle wasn't the best place to go. That decided, he took her across the bridge spanning the lava moat below and further down the path away from the castle, trying to avoid going too fast while still keeping a decent pace.
Eventually they came not far from the site of a smaller castle (or its remains, as the case may be). On a hill overlooking the site, he stopped and let go. "This should be more than far enough," he announced. "Sorry if I went farther than you were hoping, however..." | |

| Clive looked around after feeling someone bump into him. He turned around to see Kamek going into his workshop.
"I wonder if he knows about the wand yet, I better not disturb him," Clive said to himself before continuing to walk down the hall. | |

| After a very long nap that spanned over entire pages of this story, Bubbles woke up, rather groggy and feeling a little bit ill. He hopped down from the throne. Wow, this place is huge! he thought to himself, staring at all of the fancy carvings and tapestries. Feeling like it was a bad idea to stay in the room any longer, he left through where he'd come from. Being rather bored, he decided to go exploring inside of the castle.
After a few minutes, he came to a room full of different species of plants and flowers and massive Piranha Plants. Yikes! They'd eat me up in one bite! he thought, shivering at the sight.
He left that area, and kept exploring. | |

| As she let him guide her outside, she looked around and observed the valley of its dark and relatively humid surroundings. If they weren't in a place under the ocean, a night sky filled with stars would actually make it quite beautiful down here.
Sitting down on top of a pile of castle or what was left of one, Crystal looked to Chugami and attempted to smile. It was a fairly poor attempt to hide her fears, she imagined he could see right through it. "I was raised in that castle with my family", she said as she felt her wings begin to tremble. "The sounds of toads and other captives being tortured filling the hallways, the marching of the troops that would come from up above us on the roof." Her eyes, which had began to tear up, looked directly into the eyes of the furry traveler. Attempting to drape her long hair around her body and over her shell, she sighed. | |

| Quickly making her way up through the narrow hallways of the castle, Heaven approached the door that led to the Magikoopa's workshop. Giving a gentle knock on the door and then slowly creaking it open, she peeked inside the room. It was an absolute mess with open potion containers strewn all over the table in the center of the room. Scrolls were draped over the curtain rails above the lone window peeking out into the Valley and a few pointed wizard caps of various colors laid in a pile just to the right of the doorway.
"Kamek!", she shouted as she pulled the mysterious wand out of her shell slowly. "You may want to see this." | |

| Thankfully, the pile wasn't too high; after leaving his pot at the foot of it, Chugami was quickly able to hop up to sit next to where Crystal set down. He could tell she was still upset, but being outside (relatively) seemed to be helping some.
"I certainly can't imagine that being pleasant," he replied, trying to prompt her on. "Especially not at a young age." | |

| Clive proceeded to carry on down the halls when he heard a familiar voice, one, which he hadn't heard in a long time. His eyes widened as he turned around to face a female troopa who he thought he had seen the last off. "You," Clive could only say as he stared in shock. https://koopaelite.forumotion.com/t7p30-character-sign-up#1528The koopa troopa walked up to Clive hurriedly. "Hello Clive, she said. "Elaine, what are you doing here?" Clive asked still shocked. "Surprised to see me, eh?" Elaine said. "I'm here to continue where I left off, I'm back and nothing can get rid of me, not after what happened last time." Clive snorted, "Yeah right." "Oh by the way, did you like my present," Elaine sneered. "Present? What present?" Clive asked. "Oh you know, I left it on the floor delibrately just in time for you to pick up," Elaine said. "The wand, of course, it just had to be you," Clive said realising it was Elaine who left the wand. "Bingo, and I designed it myself in such a way most Koopas would find it dangerous. Oh and another thing, did you by any chance find any mysterious letters..." Elaine continued to add but Clive had heard enough and proceeded to walk off. "That's right, walk away Clive," Elaine sneered and walked the other way with her nose stuck up in the air. | |

| Taking a handkerchief out of her shell, she wiped the tears from her cheeks and smiled to Chugami. "Enough of my story", Crystal said as she felt a bit of a chill in the air around her and shivered. "You said you had a story for me back in the tavern?"

| Poking his head out from the other side of the table, Kamek scrambled and stuttered nervously as he was caught off guard by Heaven. Adjusting his glasses he focused his attention on the wand. "I-I apologize for the m-mess, Your Evilness," he said absentmindedly as his focus was now on the mysterious device she had taken out to show him. "This isn't a Koopa wand I know that much.. I insist you leave it here and I will properly dispose of it."
With a slight adjustment of his blue cap, he smiled to Heaven. "Worry not," he exclaimed as he thrust an arm straight into the air like some dopey super hero. "The koopa, all of its glory, shall remain unharmed!" | |

| Although he was slightly disappointed that she didn't continue (I remember her saying something about the Vanilla Dome Ghost House when she greeted the queen. No surprise she'd want to move out, but why to there of all places...?), he tried not to let it show; she was obviously very much affected by it, and trying to force it wouldn't solve anything and was more than likely to make it worse.
So he decided to go with the change in subject, not that he minded a chance to recite. "Yes, I did agree to something like that earlier, didn't I?" He gave off a little chuckle. "Well, don't want to leave the lovely lady hanging for longer than she should. Normally I have something to drink to keep my throat while reciting, but I think I can do without."
He skipped down the pile to his pot, took the lid off and placed it nearby, and hopped into the mess of scrolls. He disappeared for a short time as he dug into its depths, the ends of the scrolls sticking out the top shifting around as the Squeek looked for one scroll in particular.
"I've got a tale in mind," he said, his voice slightly muffled from inside the pot but still fairly audiable. "One of my favorites. A legend from the far end of the Chai Kingdom. Now I thought for sure it was... ah, here we go!"
After a few more moments, Chugami popped back out of the pot (which appeared fairly comical), carrying a small scroll in his paws, and after putting the lid back on top of the scrolls still sticking out, hopped back up to Crystal's side. | |

| Clive proceeded to walk down the halls and waited for Elaine to dissapear. He had to tell Bowser or Heaven the truth what he just was told.
"I can't believe she would do such a thing, let alone come back here after all this time," Clive muttered to himself as he walked down a side corridor. Once Elaine walked the other way, Clive returned from where he walked and proceeded back to the throne room. ---------------------------------
Elaine walked towards the bar quite smugly. She knew exactly what reaction Clive would have and that's exactly what she wanted. She had nothing to do with the letter but she was the one who planted it so Clive would be the one who found it but she had everything to do with the wand.
Reaching the restaurant, she hurried straight to the bar completely ignoring all the other customers there. She waited to be served.

| Crystal smiled softly as she watched Chugami dig through his deep pot of scrolls. "I bet you've got so much to tell," she said as she began to straighten out her hair. "Yet so much more to write." Looking around the quiet surroundings of the valley for a moment, she then set her attention back to the storyteller and waited patiently for him to begin. | |

| L.J. had been passed out in his seat for quite a bit when he finally came to. Raising his weary head, which was very heavy due to the alcohol intake, he noticed a female koopa troopa under the reflection of the dimmed out tavern lights. Coughing for a moment, he focused on the stranger. "I'm guessing this place is closed, on the account that I'm the only conscious person besides yourself left in here." | |

| Elaine looked over at the stranger and then in a huff, she replied,
"Oh well that's just great. What's the point of leaving a bar open when no-one is even serving. I come in here expecting to get a drink and what do I get, no service whatsoever. I'll guess I'll just have to come back later
She turned back to the door where she came in and left quickly without even saying goodbye.
-----------------------------------------
Clive hurried back to the throne room and knocked on the throne room door and waited for a response. | |

| Like several of his other scrolls, the one he was holding was a double-roller, which had a roller on both ends of the parchment. Although shorter anecdotes and just plain notes could make do with one roll, longer stories practically required double-rollers, allowing an easy scrolling without worrying about earlier parts getting damaged. Chugami sat down. Holding a roller in each hand, he unrolled the scroll and quickly "rewound" it to the beginning. After a quick glance up to make sure Crystal was paying attention, he cleared his throat before beginning. "The Tale of Urashima Koro, the Fisher Koopa..." - Quote :
Many years ago, before the rise of the Chai Kingdom, there was a fishing village that sat on the east coast, known as Mizu-yeah-no. In this village was a young mature Koopa named Urashima Koro. He was a fisherkoopa, like his father before him and his father before him, and was renowned in his community for being the most skilled fisherkoopa in all the countryside, capturing more Cheep Cheeps and Bloopers in a day than his peers could in a week. Along with his great skill in fishing the sea, he was also known for his kind heart. In his whole life, he had never hurt anything, great or small, and was teased as a hatchling for not participating in the teasing and torment of lesser creatures, finding it a cruel sport.
Chugami paused for a moment and looked up again. "Y'know, I always found that part a little strange. He's never hurt anything in his life, except for all the Cheep Cheeps he fishes for. I mean, this story is over a century old so there's probably some values dissonance, but it seems like such an oversight..." | |
