Riding The Storm Out -- COMPLETED

"Hence the smell", Fire said in response to the voice coming from directly to his right. "You can talk too, how about that. What's your name if the one next door is Frank?"

Turning his attention to the Queen, he looked over to her over the barrier separating them. "Yes, Your Lady Koopaness", he said as he finished up saddling up the Reznor and grabbed it by the reins. Standing in front of the Reznor, he slowly backed out of the stall, guiding the leathery grey rhino creature out of the gate gently by the reins. "We should be fine with the other 5 koopa troopas traveling with us by foot, but we best get going now."

He began to walk out of the room still guiding the Reznor behind him, heading for the lobby and out into the unknown that was around them.

Heaven about fell over from the sudden blast of odor from the burp that the Reznor let off, she had to step away a few feet to recover. "Good god!", she exclaimed in digust. "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" Grabbing the reins, she gently led the rhino out of the stable and caught up with Fire in the lobby.

"Sure we won't need supplies?", she asked him thoughtfully. "It is a ways to Cookie Mountain." Walking out of the lobby door with the Reznor, she gently climbed onto the saddle and waited for Sir Fire to lead the way.

Guiding the Reznor outside, Fire mounted onto him and looked to the Queen directly next to him. "We'll get there quickly, trust me", he said as he patted the Reznor on the head. "All these fellas need is a little motivation."

Digging through his shell, he found a jar of red hot mushrooms. "I stole these from a go-kart once, just drop it in their mouths and we'll me moving in no time." Digging into the jar, he handed Heaven a mushroom and took one for himself. Putting the jar back in his shell, he held the mushroom out in front of the Reznor's nose.

Roy, Wendy and the three other koopalings gathered around Kamek and sat quietly. Only hearing the hum of the motor of the Copter, they waited for Kamek to tell his story. Sure they've heard it hundreds and thousands of times, but it was a great tale.

Roy looked around to the others and showed a fist to them. "Anybody who interrupts get their faces punched in!", he exclaimed. He wondered where they were at, they had to be getting close to Cookie Mountain by now.

They were approaching Cookie Mountain after what seemed like hours. Bringing it down suddenly, he landed on the propellers hard, the sudden impact causing him to go falling backwards and crushing Kamek and the koopa kids below him.

"Everyone alright?", he asked as he moved himself off of the group. "I really need to learn how to crash better."

The two Reznors sniffed at the red hot mushrooms dangling in front of them and swallowed them in one gulp. A fart sound erupted from both of their behinds as a shot of fire shot out their mouthes. With a sudden giant burst of flame coming out of their butts, the Reznors took off like a rocket and went soaring out of the Valley of Bowser nearly bucking the riders off as they skimmed across the water of Soda Lake.

Fixing his crumpled hat and readjusting his glasses, Kamek glared at Bowser. "Every.. God.. Damn.. Time!", he sputtered in anger as he quickly climbed out of the wrecked Copter. He stomped off towards the hangar, fuming mad.

Larry dusted himself off and climbed out of the Copter. "Uncle!", he shouted after Kamek. "Wait up!" He chased after Kamek, following him in the direction of the Hangar.

Roy and the others climbed out of the Copter and joined Kamek and Larry as they left for the hangar, but Wendy stood there looking off from the cliff of Cookie Mountain and into the skies above. She felt an unusual wind pick up, it wasn't the typical mountain winds but something in particular. Walking back over to Bowser, Wendy tugged on her daddy's arm to get his attention. "Dad, there's something not right about the weather", she said with a bit of a worried expression on her face. "Something big is coming and I don't think it's the usual passing storm."

She hoped she was wrong, for everyone's sake.

As the Koopas began to prepare boarding the aircraft at the Cookie Mountain Hangar, a thick black fog began to quickly fill the skies. Lightning shot down from the fog as the winds picked up drastically. As it got closer to Cookie Mountain, the winds only grew more fierce, it only had one target in mind. The Koopas and they must be eliminated from the land, permanently.

The two Reznors finally sputtered out, just coming to a short skid and finally resting upon the Chocolate Island shoreline. Buried deep in chocolate powder from the crash, they looked like unmarked graves resting along the shore.

Kamek stopped in his tracks, just short of where the aircraft was waiting and looked at Larry and the others who had came after him. "Talk to your dad", he said with anger in his voice. Looking up in terms of venting or possibly rolling his eyes in sarcasm, he noticed an unusual fog patch quickly rolling through Chocolate Island.

"Fogs don't produce winds of that magnitude", he said to himself as he walked back over to Bowser and tapped him on the back of his shell. "You tell me what kind of storm that is and I'll fly to the Islands on the wings of the aircraft."

Opening his eyes, he found that he had been knocked out temporarily. It was either from the speed and velocity of the Reznor or the impact as they hit the island. Shaking out the cobwebs, he got up and realized he had been thrown several feet from the Reznor he had rode on. which was now a large mound of wet chocolate on the shoreline, or he assumed it was anyways. Wiping the wet chocolate off of his armor, he made his way over to where the Reznors were buried and started to look for the Queen. "Heaven, Your Koopaness!", he shouted, in worry. "Where are you? Are you alright?"

Looking up above him, he noticed a thick black fog begin to roll in. It was rather unusual weather and the winds were picking up by the second. He continued to look for the Queen as the weather worsened.

Sticking her head out from behind one of the buried Reznors, Heaven waved at the koopa knight Fire. "I'm fine.", she said as she un-buried one of the reptiles from the loose chocolate. Seeing the Reznor was still alert, she mounted back upon it and grabbed the reins. Looking up and seeing the fog and wind pick up drastically, she quickly put her crown into her shell and began to ride. Her armored shell helped keep her weighted down in preventing her from being blown away in the storm.

The Reznor shook off the enormous pile of Chocolate off of himself and then looked to the koopa knight. "Thanks a lot man, my butt'll be burning for weeks.", he snarled with sarcasm as he walked over to him. "Best get up there quickly, the weather is becoming highly unforgiving."

Getting irritated at being pulled on by Wendy and Kamek, Bowser nearly decked both of them with an elbow but looked to the skies. They were right, this wasn't no typical storm. It had blanketed Chocolate Island and the surrounding skies around them, it was just reaching into the Forest of Illusion now. The winds were kicking up, he saw mounds of earth being ripped away from Chocolate Island as the winds punished the land.

"My koopa luck!", Bowser exclaimed. "Our first chance to go on vacation ever and it's raining trouble." Then looking to the crashed out Koopa Copter, he gulped nervously. "HURRY UP!!", he barked at the others around him. "FIX THE COPTER, THAT'S AN ORDER!"

Hearing the screaming and demands of King Dad, Roy and Ludwig ran over to the Copter and began to dig the propeller that was deeply buried into the soil.

Wendy ran over and pushed Roy to the side and began digging at the ground furiously
"Hurry up, slow poke!", she shouted. "We're running out of time because of you."

Larry ran over to the Copter and straightened out the bent up propeller as Roy and Wendy fought over who dug it up. Then dusting himself off, he examined the Copter from top to bottom.

"What does a Koopa do when he loses?", he asked aloud as he observed the machine. Jumping him, he climbed and struggled his way inside the Copter. "Fly the Koop!", he shouted in response to his own question from inside.

Mounting back onto the Reznor, he grabbed the reins and directed the beast forward. As he caught up with Heaven, he thought about what the Reznor said. The beast was right, they were running out of time.. Feeling the wind pick up to a high speed, he tied his wrists to the reins that held onto the beast below him. Putting down his visor to keep the dirt from flying into his eyes, he looked to Heaven and hoped that she had something to keep her from getting caught in the turbulence. As they crossed through the thick, dusty air that surrounded them on the island, he put those earlier thoughts aside and thought about how things were going on Cookie Mountain. He could make out the Copter was still there and could still see the tip of the wing from the aircraft in the hangar, so they weren't gone yet. He just hoped nothing happened to them.

As he forced the beast to ride into the blowing storm, they crossed into the Forest of Illusion and saw trees nearly uprooting themselves from the brute force of the winds. Shuddering at the thought of this unusual dark fog that was destroying the land around him, he and Heaven continued onward as they went through the ravaging forest.

Seeing the Copter was freed from the soil, he recklessly began to toss the surrounding koopalings up and over into the flying machine. Taking nervous glances to the storm approaching quickly as it began to tear through the forest now, he loaded the last of them inside and then stood next to Kamek and looked at him. "You're the wizard, stop this damned storm you putz!", he shouted at him in a panic.

With her armored shell keeping her from being tossed around in the high winds, she slowly made her way into the Forest of Illusion, still riding the Reznor. Dirt flew in her eyes as the trees were uprooted by the powerful windstorm, but she couldn't get the dirt out of her eyes without taking a hand off the reign and risk being thrown from the Reznor and lost in the storm.

Glancing quickly to the koopa knight riding beside her, she saw that they were on the verge of making it through the last of the forest. Clearing the last set of trees, she felt the wind kick up even higher as she directed the Reznor over towards the cliff that held Cookie Mountain and the Hangar just above. Looking to Fire, she had to literally scream in the wind just so she could be heard over the loud whistling. "Where do we leave the Reznors at?", she shouted at him. "I don't know if they'd be safe from this storm left out in the open like this!"

Pointing out to the fog that had now covered most of Dinosaur Land, Kamek glared at Bowser. "Are you nuts?", he asked him in frustration. "No type of magic can fix all this!"

Leaping into the Copter, he huddled behind the koopalings that were inside. Peeking his head out of the top of the Copter, Kamek felt a movie reference coming on. "Get to the Copter, now!", he shouted at Bowser as he hid back inside.

Spreading quickly over the Forest of Illusion, the winds kicked up even higher as the fog blanketed Cookie Mountain. The fog began to go into a cyclone like funnel as a 160 foot tall dragon shaped out from the black air and established itself directly in between the hangar and the Koopa Copter. It had scales, which were flaking off in several areas and looked to be decaying in several more. Two fire red eyes glowed from the dragon's head as the winds picked up intensity. Thunder and lightening came down from the skies as it pointed a large, smokey claw at Bowser as he was still standing by the Copter.

"First, you", it said in a very loud, deafening voice that sounded a lot like death. "Then your little klan, and then Dinosaur Land will be mine!"

Fire could barely make out what Heaven was saying as they rode through the wind and approached the cliffs of Cookie Mountain. Carefully untying himself from the reins, he pointed out to a small cave just next to the footholds that lined the trek up to the peak of Cookie Mountain. "Let's put them in the cave!", he shouted to Heaven through the whistling winds. Leading the Reznor by the reins, he led the beast inside the small cave and stayed inside of it, waiting for Heaven to lead hers in as well. He was adjusting his visor when he heard a voice that sounded too familiar, horribly familiar in fact as he began to turn deathly pale and felt a cold chill travel through his body.

It was the voice of a foe, a dead foe.. but could it really be?

Untucking his tail from inside his shell, he looked at it for a moment and the past came back in an instant to him. The tail that was covered in red scales, was worn out in several spots from all those years of fighting. It was no longer shiny and glossed over, it was scarred and torn from the wars and battles of the years past.. and the fight with the voice of the foe he had just heard as it echoed from above and down into this cavern. Pulling out his sword from inside his shell, he closed his visor and took a deep breath. He had to save the Koopa Empire and Dinosaur Land from a beast that nearly took his own family and lands many years before.. but could he do it again?

Peeking his thick rimmed glasses above the rim of the Copter, Kamek saw the horrifying sight of a dragon that reeked of death and hell. With a quick gasp, he ducked low into the bottom of the copter hoping that the giant beast did not see him.

"Blast it all to hell.", he muttered to himself.

Bowser looked at Kamek and sighed sarcastically. "Everybody knows I'm the King here. Ruler. Supreme." Turning around, he saw a giant claw in his face. Coughing, he looked up above him and tapped his foot. "It's not polite to poin.. holy bloody hell!", he roared as he stepped back in surprise. Looking over the humongous dragon that was standing in front of him, he let out a nervous laugh. "When a Koopa is Kooped, we hit the Keep!", he said with a bit of panic in his voice.

He took off running for the Copter.

Leading her Reznor into the cave from the blustery winds outside, Heaven studied Fire as he worked with his visor. His body language made to seem like he had just seen a ghost. Something was worrying him, he knew something was going on. Something bigger than a Koopa could ever measure up to or even be allowed to be.

Walking over to Fire, she noticed the dragon tail that came out from the bottom of his shell and placed a firm hand on the top of his shell. Looking into his eyes with deep content and sincerity, she felt her body wanting to go limp and crumple to the floor. "As the Koopa Queen, I demand to know what's going on", she said in a soft, gentle voice. "About your past and what the heck is going on out there."
