The Pot of Scrolls:Would you like to hear a story? Come, sit.
My pot of scrolls holds many words with which
To sample, and I'm sure one will match your
Own unique taste. Adventure is nigh,
Or say perhaps some romance? Mayhaps thou
Seek comedy, for I've a laugh or two.
Ah this variety, for I'll always
have something you shall enjoy to hear.
For that, you see, my purpose here. To tell
these tales and yarns and fables many, yes.
A storyteller, that is what I am.
I wander far and wide, to seek out these,
My magnificent tales from all across
This wide wide world. And when I hear a tale
That I have not heard before, then it's time
To take up ink and one of my blank scrolls
And write it down, to later share with you
And others eager so to imagine.
Of fairies, knights and dragons, cruel tyrants
And heroes true to oppose them. Now hear
Me now of land of eternity, and
The paper crane that took a man there.
The fisher lad and three times hundred years
In ocean king's fine palace. Heracles
And of his dozen deeds. That's just the start.
But while I've found so many tales, it seems
My own has lost itself. Where I've come from
Is lost to winds of time. The more I've found,
It seems, the more I'm cursed to lose. With each
Tale gathered here, my memory of me,
What I was before I set out, perhaps
Even after that for some time, is pushed
Out and is lost, perhaps even forev-
Er so. And soon, I fear, that I will be-
Come nothing more, and all that remains will
Be stories. But do not shed tears for me -
Storyteller - for I am sure that this,
At start, is what I truly sought to find.
Author's Notes: If your first thought was "Shakespeare is turning in his grave," good, you recognize iambic pentameter. This is my first time trying such a meter, if only because I thought the Bard's rhythm seemed somewhat appropriate for a storyteller character.EDIT: bio artwork complete! (And yes, this is the smaller size that
Colors! 3D exports to. And yes, there's only two.)
